Can I Reuse Engine Oil?

Author: E. Silva (aka Mr. Awesome Expert)

Your engine, and the transmission functions, and all else, will start to pollute and eventually die. It’s just a matter of time. That’s why it’s important to always change your oil ( and its filter ) when it’s time to. UNLESS ( and I do have a big UNLESS to make here ) you happen to have a re – usable type of engine - oil filter or you have simply poured in the oil but not turned on the car and used it ( then in this case, most of the time, you are able to pour the oil bank into your container and store for later …. technically “re - using it”, he he he he heh ) .

Now in terms of re - using the engine oil for other purposes ( basically re – cycling it to help save the environment and such ) , that is perfectly reasonably. And as a matter of fact, it is something that millions of people around the world tend to do every day …. it’s important to help preserve the planet and its re – cyclable eco – system at the end of the day, isn’t it? Of course it is.

People donate this oil and put it in re – cycling bins and so much more. Then it gets preserved, re – made and even processed along into crude oil and other things. It’s amazing what scientists are truly able to do with all that old engine oil that has been used up.

Now keep in mind that if you are thinking of “re - using your engine oil” in another way, as in, “putting it back into your engine and driving your car with it”, then once more, that is a terrible idea as it is ( a proven fact, actually, time and time again ) one of the quickest ways to start killing off your engine. Do you hate your engine or something, or maybe your car? Why do something so bad for its health? Over time, your car will get more and more internally polluted with the same ( yet worsening ) cruddy oil that it had in it before, and the only time I can see you actually re - using such oil would perhaps be in like a real emergency in which you HAVE to drive somewhere and have no other option for getting new oil in the engine. ( And I know I’ve talked about these rare scenarios before … and they are, like I said, exceptions to the rule …. strong emphasis on the word “exceptions” ) ….

Your re – cycled oil, on another note, helps provide compost feed and other great things. So let it be “re - used” by re – cycling it ( NOT by you re – using it in your same car, he he he he heh ) . I hope this has cleared up the matter a bit and your question is answered, friend.
